Business Licenses and Other Permits

Below is a list of licenses and permits maintained by the Town of Speedway, including the business and landlord licenses as well as short term rental, and alarm permits. The applications for each permit or license can be found at the bottom of this page.

 

Permits for security alarm systems. Comes in three varieties; residential, commercial, and alarm company. Residential alarm permits are for alarm systems monitoring homes in Speedway. Commercial alarm permits are for alarms monitoring businesses in Speedway. Alarm company permits allow security companies to provide their services in Speedway. Residential and Commercial alarm permits are valid until March 1st of each year. Alarm company permits are valid until April 1st of each year.

 

Business License   

A license to operate a business within the Town of Speedway. All business licenses are valid until March 1st of each year.

 

Give door to door solicitors permission to conduct business within the Town of Speedway during daylight hours within a 30-day span. These permits can only be applied for in person at the Speedway Clerk/Treasurer's Office. Issuance of door to door permits is suspended whenever event permits are being issued.

 

A permit for the temporary placement of a dumpster on a property, only required if the dumpster can't fit entirely on private property. The Town determines the permit's expiration date based on dates provided by the applicant.

 

Hotel/Motel License
A business license for a hotel or motel operated within the Town of Speedway. Valid until March 1st of each year.

 

A license that can be obtained by individuals or companies that maintain rental properties within the Town of Speedway. Valid until October 1st of each year.

 

Grants an individual access to the Town of Speedway's right of way. These permits can be obtained for a multitude of reasons ranging from parking for work vehicles and equipment, tree trimming, concrete work, and much more. Right of way access permits are valid for a minimum of one week. An applicant can request additional time either at the time of application or request a permit extension prior to the permit's expiration, for an additional fee.

 

Permits that can be obtained by individuals or companies for short term rental units such as those found listed on platforms such as AirBnB, or VRBO. The application fee is $150.00. These permits are valid for one year and can be renewed each year at no charge.
