About the Communications Director

Cheryl McElroy joined the Town of Speedway administration in 2021 serving as the Director of Communications. Cheryl providing oversight of communications for the Town of Speedway to promote planned initiatives, foster a culture of community engagement, and ensure unified messaging. She brings tenured communications experience, including a knowledge of writing, design,meeting planning, and project management.

Prior to starting with the Town of Speedway, Cheryl's experience includes more than 30 years in communications with State Farm Insurance in West Lafayette, and most recently, as the Internal Communications Specialist with IndyGo, the Indianapolis public transit agency. She has worked closely with corporate stakeholders, industry professionals, leadership personnel, and internal and external communities to build awareness, create engagement, and establish strategic, effective messaging.

Cheryl serves the Town of Speedway as well as being a new resident to this community.
