Parks & Recreation Board
Established by Indiana Code 36-10-3-10, the Parks & Recreation Board is responsible for the general supervision and rules of the Parks Department. Their duties include:
- establishing the rules governing use of park & recreation facilities
- appointing administrative professionals
- establishing the standards for department staff
- making recommendation or an annual report to the executive body concerning operations of the department
- preparing and submitting an annual budget for operations, programming and capital improvements, and
- appointing a member to serve concurrently on another board or commission whose mission is related to parks & recreation.
The Parks & Recreation Board meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:00pm at the Speedway Professional Annex located at 5620 Crawfordsville Road, Suite M (unless otherwise advertised.) These meetings are open to the public to attend.
