Heavy Trash

Heavy Trash

Speedway residents are allowed 1 heavy trash item per month (see calendar for specific day of pickup).

Additional heavy trash items can be scheduled for removal by contacting Ray’s at 317-539-2024 (charges apply).

Heavy Trash items include, but are not limited to, stoves, washers, dryers, furniture and other items with weights or volumes greater than those allowed for by approved containers.  This term also includes items that previously contained refrigerants, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers and dehumidifiers, as long as the resident can provide Ray’s with appropriate documentation showing that the CFC’s or HCFC’s have been properly removed by a licensed technician.

Unacceptable items include, but are not limited to, e-waste (such as TV’s and computers), antifreeze, oil, gasoline, gasoline cans/tanks, propane tanks, batteries, pain, paint thinner, flammable or toxic liquids, medical waste, tires (unless quartered), construction & demolition debris, any type of fencing, concrete, bricks, sod, soil, trees, tree trunks or stumps

Microwaves are not considered e-waste at this time and are therefore acceptable as Heavy Trash.  Some microwaves are small enough to fit in the toter and that is fine.  If it’s a larger model - set it on the curb in plain sight.  As you can imagine, it’s much easier to see the stoves and refrigerators than it is to spot a small item like a microwave.
