Town News

  • Town Council Meeting: The Speedway Town Council will meet on Monday, January 27th in their second regular session of the month. The agenda can be found online at Town Council meetings are public and can also be viewed online on the SCTV YouTube page or on the SCTV local cable access channel.   • State of the Town address: Don’t forget to mark your calendars for February 4th! We’re excited to have guest speakers Doug Boles (IMS) and Melissa Sauer (Allison Transmission) with us for the State of the Town address. We also are excited to have a special announcement about new confirmed tenants of the Founders Square development at 2500 High School Road! You won’t want to miss it. (Event Page)

  • Chamber of Commerce brings back Mardi Gras on Main! The Annual Mardi Gras Pub Crawl will take place on February 22nd this year! The Chamber has invited you to join them for a pub craw down Main Street including O'Reilly's Speedway, Tacos and Tequila, Dawson's on Main, Barbecue and Bourbon, Foyt Wine Vault, Daredevil Brewing Co, Big Woods Speedway, and 1911 Grill!   • “Devour Indy” Deals in Speedway: Barbecue and Bourbon and Dawson's On Main will both be participating in this year’s Devour Indy event! Devour Indy serves as Indy’s city wide dining experience at more than 200 restaurants offering three-course, value-priced menus. Diners do not need a coupon or special pass to participate.   • FEMA Maps Revised: The Town of Speedway has received final approval of the Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) for Dry Run and Dry Run Diversion. The map revision became effective today, January 24th, 2020. Based on the revision, your address may have been removed from the 1-percent annual chance floodplain. If you have been impacted by the Dry Run Diversion project, please contact bank or insurance agent to request that they review the new floodplain maps to determine what will be required to change the status of your home. For questions about FEMA floodplains, call 1-877-336-2627 M-F, 8am-7pm (ET).

  • Founders Square: You might have noticed there has been a little more action around the 2500 block of High School Road this week! Equipment has been mobilized on the new Founders Square development and dirt should be moving soon. A special announcement will be made at the State of the Town address on February 4th, revealing new tenants!
  • AutoTech Demolition: The former AutoTech demolition has been completed by the developer ahead of the redevelopment of the 1300 block of Main Street.
