Town News

  • Town Council Meeting: The Speedway Town Council met on Monday, February 10th in their first regular session of the month. Agenda items include two requests for road closures for running events in May, appointment of volunteers to boards and commissions, approval of agreements, and department head reports. Missed it?   • School Board Meeting: The Speedway School Board met on February 11th and held a public hearing regarding additional appropriations in the Rainy Day Fund, provided updates on the Newby Project, and more. (View Video)
  • CDC & SHAC Meeting Change: The Community Development Corporation and Speedway Housing Advisory Council have moved their public meetings for February to February 27th at 6:00pm (CDC) and 6:30pm (SHAC) at Speedway Town Annex. No CDC or SHAC meetings will be held on February 18th as previously scheduled.
  • Dirt Stripper Car Wash Under New Management: Dirt Stripper Car Wash, located at 4980 Crawfordsville Road in Speedway, is now under new management. All new equipment has been added in the two touchless washes and many more improvements will be coming soon! Check them out today and give your car a little love. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for promotions.

Speedway Parks & Recreation

  • Next Meeting: The Speedway Parks Board will meeting Monday, February 17th in public session at the Speedway Professional Annex at 6:00pm.
  • Summer Camp Registration at Pancake Breakfast: The Speedway Parks Department will be launching their 2020 Summer Camp Registrations at the Speedway Lions Club Pancake Breakfast! Stop by from 8am-12pm at the SHS Cafeteria to have breakfast and check out what’s coming to the parks this summer.
  • West Indy Art & Music Festival - Artist Applications Open: CALL FOR ARTISTS: This year, the Tri Kappa of Speedway - Epsilon Eta Chapter will be hosting the art portion of the West Indy Art and Music Festival 2020 in Meadowood Park! Tri Kappa will accept artist applications until April 5th, 2020. The juried selection process will allow for up to 100 artists from various fine arts categories to participate.   • Dine & Donate at Fundae's Ice Cream & Sweets: On February 19th, visit Fundae's Ice Cream from 4p-8p and 10% of proceeds will automatically be donated to the Speedway Parks Winter Basketball League! It's that easy! (Event Page)
