Speedway Town Hall Closing to Walk-In Customers

(Speedway, IN) Beginning March 18th, the Speedway Town Hall will be closed to walk-in customers until further notice. Town employees will continue to work and most transactions can be done online or arranged by phone or email. When necessary, in-person meetings can be scheduled.

After reviewing the information from Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb regarding COVID-19 and out of concern for our employees and the community, the town hall will be limiting walk-in customers during this time. “Our employees are still operating under normal business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-12p and 1p-5p, however we are limiting the number of people with access to the building to help reduce the spread of the virus,” stated Jacob Blasdel, clerk-treasurer.

The office will be closed until the COVID-19 pandemic is under control and a notice will be sent upon the reopening of standard operations. In the meantime, the staff has made suggestions on how to maintain normal business.

To pay your water bill or make changes to your account you can:

  • Utility bills can be dropped in the blue deposit box in the parking lot behind Speedway Town Hall
  • Call by phone during business hours at 317-246-4111 to pay or make changes to accounts
  • Pay online (click here for further instructions)

“We apologize for the inconvenience and we understand that some of our customers may experience hardship during the many shutdowns. We will not be processing disconnects in the next month and encourage customers to call us if they are struggling to pay their water bill,” Blasdel added.

The Town of Speedway also understands that work must continue on projects and homes, therefore permitting appointments will be made available to those requiring a permit for their work in Speedway. The permitting desk can be reached by phone or email to set up an in-person appointment. While the town does not want to halt progress on projects, they do want to make sure they are taking every precaution possible to keep everyone safe. Those seeking a permit should call or email Sarah Adams at 317-246-4111 or sadams@speedwayin.gov.
