Heavy Trash

How many Heavy Trash Items are Allowed?

• Speedway residents are allowed 1 heavy trash item per month
• Refer the Solid Waste Calendar for pick-up dates
• Additional heavy trash items can be scheduled for removal by contacting Waste Management at 317-539-2024 or customerserviceRS_GLA@wm.com (charges apply)

Heavy Trash items include, but are not limited to

• Stoves
• Washers / Dryers
• Furniture and other items with weights or volumes greater than those allowed for by approved containers. 
  Furniture covered in fabric must be covered in plastic or it will not be picked up.
• Mattress  - must be wrapped in plastic or it will not be picked up.
• Microwaves
  • If microwave is small, place in trash toter 
  • If microwave is a larger model, place on curb in plain sight
• Items that previously contained refrigerants, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers and dehumidifiers, as long as the resident can provide Waste Management with appropriate documentation showing that the CFC’s or HCFC’s have been properly removed by a licensed technician.
• Items covered in fabric (mattresses, box springs, sofas, etc.) must be covered in plastic.
