Meeting Minutes – June 21, 2023 5:30 – 7:00 pm
Attendees:
John Reller, Christine Meador, Gregg Mauel, Gillian Fletcher, Jamie West, Barb Hellyer, Jason Vansickle, Michelle Lidy, Stephanie Bennett, Austin Templin, Helen Kellam, John Leonard, Robin Levy, Tammy Smith, Terri Sedam
- Speedway Unplugged Camp Presentations (5:30 – 6:00 pm)
- 4 students presented their ideas for the centennial celebration
- Jet from Newby Elementary wants
- Chuck E Cheese to replace the Vape store
- New Year’s B-day Cake
- Shawn from Allison Elementary wants:
- a huge fair
- massive bounce house
- water slides
- candy, funnel cakes
- free pepperoni pizza, ice cream, and soda
- 3 vs 3 basketball tournament
- Zoey from Allison Elementary would like:
- free snow cones
- a big bounce house or trampoline
- gifts for everyone (under $20)
- decorate the town with black and white balloons
- dogs to visits schools to pet
- Mary Grace from St. Christopher would like
- Decorations made by community to be used to decorate the parks
- big celebration & parade down Main St.
- art contest for best 100th poster. The winner would get their poster on a shirt
- Anna from Fisher Elementary could not attend the presentation portion, but wants
- fun games for kids
- food, crafts
- shirt design
- scavenger hunt

- Main Meeting (6:00 – 7:00 pm)
- There were two new attendees – Helen Kellam & John Leonard
- Helen’s family owned Trade Winds Aquariums on Main St. and her husband came up with the name Sparkplugs for the town
- John provided a USB drive for the group with lots of great info, there is a park nearby with his family name on it
- Attendees discussed events and began filling in details on note cards
- Details have been added to the event list
- Attendees noted which projects they were interested in supporting
- Still need for those who could not attend
- Send email to Austin with the events that you would support

- Discussed next steps for logo creation
- Setup CPC subcommittee
- Use Arts Council contacts
