Ordinance No. 1084

WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Speedway, Indiana (the "Town") has determined it necessary to restrict parking on any portion of any lawn within the Town limits.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town of Speedway, Indiana that Section 10.12.215 of the Speedway Municipal Code is added to read as follows:

Section 1 . Section 10.12.215 of the Speedway Municipal Code is added to read as follows:

" 10.12.215 Lawn Parking Restrictions. No person shall park any vehicle on any portion of any lawn located within the Town limits other than for purposes of and while such vehicle is actually being loaded, unloaded or washed or for purposes of parking vehicles for the major racing events (as permitted by the Town of Speedway) at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (a) for the " Indianapolis 500 Mile Race ", and during the two (2) weekend qualifications periods preceding this race. This would include the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights of the " Indianapolis 500 Mile Race ", and the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights of the two (2) qualification periods, typically held the weekends proceeding this major racing event, and (b) for other major racing events (such as the " Brickyard 400 " and " US Grad Prix ") similar parking restrictions shall be implemented during the three (3) nights prior to and also the night of the racing events. This would include the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights of these other racing event weekends, or, if any of these race events is postponed on a day-to-day basis following the scheduled day of the race, the day the race is completed ."
