Speedway Street

The Town of Speedway is comprised of residents, businesses, schools, public services, civic groups, and boards & commissions all working to make our community better and improve the quality of life. A Town board or commission is an independent body consisting of volunteer members appointed by public officials.

The Town of Speedway has 18 active boards and commissions covering a variety of topics. Members for the Town of Speedway Boards & Commissions are currently being considered for the new term beginning 2024 – there are currently 35 openings.

Appointment to a board or commission presents Speedway citizens an opportunity to participate in the advancement and governance of the Town. “Our boards and commissions are an important part of the Town,” said Town Manager Grant Kleinhenz. “Serving is an opportune way to give back to the community and also shape the future of Speedway by lending personal experiences, judgement, and expertise.” Board or commission members will expand their awareness of community resources and services, allow for valuable networking and connecting with others, and foster a sense of belonging and ownership to the community.

While the rewards are many, there are a few board & commissions expectations: committing to serving out the noted term, attending monthly meetings, actively participating, support meetings, events, and initiatives, and adhere to any applicable Town policies.

To be considered for an appointment to a Town of Speedway board or commission, please submit an application of interest along with a resume to elopez@speedwayin.gov. Please visit the Boards & Commissions page for topic descriptions.
