COMMUNITY: Town Lights Up Main Street for Holiday Season

There are many special things about the Town of Speedway: schools, parks, public safety, strong racing history – but it is the residents, steep in rich family and community traditions, who truly make Speedway a special place to live and visit.

 

As we look ahead to upcoming winter holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, we want Speedway’s Main Street to become a part of your holiday traditions.

 

Main Street offers some incredible restaurants and shops – and this year, the Town will Light Up Main Street to offer a holiday experience fitting for our small Town of Speedway. Main Street will be lit up with an assortment of holiday lights, illuminative winter décor, a lit holiday tree standing 25’ tall in the roundabout, and imaginative displays perfect for photo opps!

 

While Light Up Main Street details are still being finalized, we hope you join us in looking forward to making Main Street one of your holiday traditions. We can’t wait to see our residents of all ages taking in the bright lights, enjoying a local restaurant or shop, and simply sharing holiday cheer with neighbors and friends as you pass along the sidewalks.

Details:

  • Lights and decor provided by Winterland, Inc., Marion, Indiana
  • Items will be rented as part of a 3-year contract for years 2022, 2023, 2024
  • Contract approved for $23,940/year
  • Cost includes rental, installation, and take-down
  • Commercial-grade lights and decor used
  • Install Timeline: 1-2 days, beginning of November
  • Take-down: January, weather dependent
