News from the Speedway Street Department

The Town has officially taken delivery of a 2026 Sewer Equipment Company of America 900 Eco Combination Sewer Cleaner - a major investment in the equipment our crews use to maintain Speedway’s sewer infrastructure.

This new truck includes a 9-yard debris body, 1,000-gallon clean water capacity, 10-foot boom extension, 600 feet of jetter hose, and a positive displacement blower - the first unit of its kind ever purchased by the Town. This upgraded blower system will allow crews to work more efficiently by vacuuming water and debris from the bottom of manholes without the slower repeated lowering process used with previous equipment.

The new truck replaces a 2007 Vactor 2100 Series unit, which served the Town exceptionally well and provided nearly 20 years of reliable operation.

The Street Department is grateful to the residents of Speedway for supporting this important equipment investment and is proud to serve the community every day. That pride is also reflected in the truck’s wrap, designed with all things Speedway in honor of the great community it serves.
