PRESS RELEASE: Philip Foust Elected as Town of Speedway Clerk-Treasurer

Philip Foust

SPEEDWAY – The Town of Speedway announced today that Philip Foust has been elected Speedway Clerk-Treasurer. Foust was elected as the Speedway Clerk-Treasurer on Saturday, January 28, 2023, by the local precinct committee members. Sen. Mike Young swore Foust into office immediately following the vote.

Town of Speedway leadership is grateful for this opportunity to work with Foust. His experience as corporate litigator, real estate agent and investor, and deputy prosecutor will enable Foust to build upon the success of his predecessor, Jacob Blasdel. Blasdel announced his resignation earlier this month and finished his last day as Clerk-Treasurer on January 20, 2023.

Foust expressed his interest in the role as a way to serve the Speedway community and maintain the level of integrity currently upheld in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office. “I’m humbled by the faith placed in me to steward the town’s resources,” Foust stated. “I look forward to the challenge of continuing Jacob Blasdel’s success, to working with the strong team in place to secure the town’s financial strength and shepherd its development, and to finding ways to continue improving services for residents and businesses in Speedway.”

Prior to working in residential and commercial real estate, Foust spent his career as a trial attorney representing businesses and corporations, investigating international banks, and prosecuting criminals in Marion County. Foust was born and raised in Indiana. He is a graduate of Indiana University (IUPUI) and Harvard Law School.

“Philip is a dedicated family man with roots in this community. He is a man of the highest integrity and understands the importance of the Clerk-Treasurer position,” said precinct committee member and Town Council President Vince Noblet. “Philip is uniquely qualified to serve as Speedway’s Clerk-Treasurer and comes with the experience and skills to assure the financial stability of our community.”

A caucus was held on January 28, 2023, to fill the vacancy of the office of Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Speedway that was created upon the resignation of Jacob Blasdel.

Philip and his wife, Christi, live in Speedway with their 5-month-old son, William.
