PRESS RELEASE: Speedway Redevelopment Commission Announces Gateway Signage Project

A MESSAGE FROM SPEEDWAY REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

The Town of Speedway proudly offers top-ranked schools, outstanding public safety, a vibrant development growth, and a strong community togetherness. Creating an opportunity to welcome residents and visitors as they enter Speedway is a valuable way to convey the spirit of this community while also promoting the Town.

During the November 28, 2022, Speedway Redevelopment Commission (SRC) public meeting, the Commission approved a professional services contract with Rundell Ernstberger Associates (REA) for the completion of design and construction drawings for new gateway signage. This signage will be located at the corner of High School Road and Crawfordsville Road. This project will be funded in part through a General Obligation Bond that was approved by Speedway Town Council during the October 2022 Town Council public meeting as well as funding from the SRC.

Next steps include the SRC working together with REA to complete the design of the proposed concept as well as collaborating with the Speedway Arts Council for imagery ideas and collecting resident input.
