Speedway PD Offering Free Steering Wheel Locks to Speedway Residents

A MESSAGE FROM THE SPEEDWAY POLICE DEPARTMENT

After a dramatic increase in vehicle thefts involving KIA and Hyundai vehicles, Speedway PD is partnering with IMPD to offer free steering wheel locks to Indianapolis and Speedway residents.

To receive a free steering wheel lock, you will need to:

- Reside in Indianapolis or Speedway

- Present your current car registration and photo ID

- Own a Hyundai model from 2015 to 2021 and/or a Kia model from 2011 to 2021

Free steering wheel locks are available at the Speedway Police Department during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Free steering wheel locks are also available at each IMPD police district during their posted business hours Monday through Friday. These free steering wheel locks are available while supplies last.
