On July 12, 2023, Speedway resident Martha Conkle celebrated her 100th birthday. Mrs. Conkle owns Conkle Funeral Home, and regularly comes into the office to work. "I live day by day and Speedway's a good town. But I'm thinking about retiring. I've been thinking about it for years, but I've never done it."
