Indiana Firearm Permits

As of July 1, 2022 the State of Indiana no longer requires a handgun permit to legally carry, conceal or transport a handgun within the state.  This law DOES NOT allow everyone to carry a handgun as Indiana Law contains certain criteria which must be met for a person to legally carry within the state. Interested parties should check online thru the Indiana State Police – Firearms Section for restrictions.

  • Firearm Permits can only be obtained through the Speedway Police Department by Speedway Residents
  • Renewals for existing license will only be accepted 1 yr. or less from the expiration date of the current permit
  • Replacement or Duplicate Licenses need to be obtained directly from Indiana State Firearms & will incur a fee of $20.00

Firearm Permits are still available for those individuals that meet the criteria. There are no longer any fees involved in obtaining a Firearm Permit thru Indiana for either the Indiana State Police or the Local Police Department. There will still be a fee for the Electronic Fingerprinting.
